About Us
Aqualife has been operating backyard swimming lessons in Southwest Aurora in a backyard pool environment since 2020. We offer private and semi-private swimming instruction for children of all ages and our lessons are designed to build water safety, confidence, and swimming skills in a safe and supportive environment. Our instructors are fully certified and have years of experience teaching swimming.

▪ We follow the Lifesaving Society of Canada program (starting at Preschool 1 and going up to Star Patrol) with over 90% of students passing at least 1 level per two week session.
▪ Parents are able to watch the lessons pool-side in a relaxing, backyard environment.
Meet our Instructors
Our instructors are fully certified in instructing, lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid and have a passion for working with kids. Our customized approach emphasizes safety, skill-building, and helping each swimmer reach their full potential. We are fully certified and follow the Lifesaving Society of Canada program, providing report cards (and stickers/badges when levels are achieved) on the last day of each 2 week session.
Makenna Trolley
Business Owner and Head Swim Instructor
Makenna just completed her first year of Kinesiology at Queens University. She has taught swimming for the past 3 years: she worked full-time at Aqualife for the past two summers and previously taught with another private swim lesson company. She is a friendly and patient instructor and enjoys teaching children of all ages and levels. She is Very excited to be taking over Aqualife as the head instructor and cannot wait to work with all of the Aqualife families this summer!
Alexis Ulahannan
Full Time Swim Instructor
Alexis has just completed her first year of Nursing at Ottawa University. She has taught swimming lessons for the past 3 years: she worked full-time at Camp Green Acres for one summer and two full years teaching swimming lessons for the towns of Richmond Hill and King City. Alexis is extremely excited to be working with Aqualife this summer and is an enthusiastic and patient instructor who has taught all ages and levels.
Our Services
We offer 6 sessions between Monday, May 11th and August 13, 2026 with each session comprised of 8 lessons over a two week period. Lessons are 30 minutes long and are held at the same time each day Mon- Thurs (with Friday used for make-up classes due to inclement weather). This continuity enables swimmers to progress rapidly and build on their skills.
Lessons can be booked as private or semi-private with two instructors teaching in the pool at the same time.
Private lessons: $250 per swimmer (for an 8 lesson session)
Semi-private: $200 per swimmer (for an 8 lesson session)

If you have a backyard pool within Aurora (or within the local area), you can hire one of our certified swim instructors to help your children become stronger swimmers! Our mobile backyard season runs from mid June – end August.
Lessons will run for 45 minutes and can be for either private or semi-private instruction (note: swimmers must be at a similar level for semi-private). A minimum of 4 lessons must be purchased, ideally scheduled within a 1-2 week period to maximize the swimmer’s progression.

Are you hosting a pool party at your home this summer? Hire one of our certified lifeguards to help ensure that all swimmers have fun safely.
Please note that your lifeguard/s will only be responsible for guarding the swimmers in the pool and not running games or watching children outside of the pool.
One lifeguard required per 20 swimmers. Minimum one hour booking time
24 hour cancellation notice required or one hour payment will be charged

Backyard Lesson Rates:
· Private lessons: $250 per swimmer (for an 8 lesson session)

Our backyard pool is located in SW Aurora (near Bathurst and Henderson) at 11 Gleave Crt
It is a heated salt-water pool that is 25ft x 45ft (irregular shaped gate enclosed pool.)
NOTE: There is limited seating on the pool deck only the covered seating near the rear door of the house is not usable sorry for the inconvenience. There are no washrooms or change rooms available – so please ensure children are ready to swim and bring towels, goggles etc. As well as street parking only.
